Sikh preacher Ranjit Singh Dhadrianwale , who has created a crisis for Akal Takht jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh by refusing to meet the special five-member panel set up to assess his discourses and interpretation of Gurbani and Sikh history, tells IP Singh that he does not want any confrontation. Sikh preacher Ranjit Singh Dhadrianwale, who has been in the eye of the storm over his discourses and issue of interpretation of Gurbani and Sikh history, has decided to discontinue holding the congregations "to avoid any situation of a violent clash." He has been facing growing opposition from a section of Sikh groups and Akal Takht recently set up a five-member committee to look into the issue.
A local court on Saturday adjourned the alleged tax evasion cases registered by the income tax (I-T) department against chief minister Amarinder Singh and his son Raninder Singh. The court of chief judicial magistrate (CJM) P S Kaleka set the next date of hearing at February 29.
