A Delhi court on Tuesday sent Sharjeel Imam, who has been named as an "instigator" by the Delhi Police in its charge sheet on violent protests against the CAA at New Friends Colony last year, to judicial custody till March 3. He was arrested on sedition charges. The charge sheet consists of CCTV footage, call records and statements of over 100 witnesses.
About 500 beneficiaries fudged details of their income certificates to fraudulently avail grants worth at least Rs 2.5 crore under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), according to sources in the nodal agency authorised to release the funds for constructing the dwelling units.

Senior AAP leader and party's Delhi unit convenor Gopal Rai has been given the environment department, while Rajendra Pal Gautam will handle the women and child development, sources said.
